http://capcc.us/images/DSCN0015.jpgOur agency has had AmeriCorps representation since the Pennsylvania Mountain Service Corps was initiated in 1994. The AmeriCorps slogan of “Getting Things Done” has been masterfully achieved by the many talented individuals who have given a year (and often two) of service.

In the 2011-12 year we are pleased to have Ryan Tabek returning in a part-time capacity.  He was our PMSC member last year.  When he took a full-time teaching position in August, he agreed to stay on to lead after-school programs and to enter data and complete other on-line jobs that could be done on a flexible schedule.  He “banked “hours between service years and had so many hours in  excess of the 1700 required that he was recognized for a President’s Award of  Service.

Natalee Brown, our full-time PMSC member has utilized her training as a    certified teacher in many activities, especially those that our Drug Prevention services focus on 9-12 year-olds. In addition to the continuing FUN and classroom programs, she has developed an entire curriculum for an         anti-alcohol program for the Cambria County Child Development Corp.  She is co-chairing a number of events in the near future for high school students.

Her enthusiasm and creativity are tremendous contributions to our   Prevention efforts.
